Kissing Him Made Me Cry

Time standing still tends to be a misnomer most of the time. Time flying is usually more accurate in this busy rush of a world. Caught up in the hustle and bustle, lost to the drama unfolding around my life, sometimes the only way to capture a really good moment is to steal it away.

Standing in the shower the other day, easing the bubbles out of my hair, my husband stepped into the room to ask me about a work related dilemma. Had we been in our honeymoon phase, wife plus shower would never equal work. Settled into monotony, my steamy abyss was reduced to another local to find the person of the house who deals with the problems.

The moment presented itself and I took it as my own. Answering the question with a solution, I proceeded to solve a dilemma of my own. I invited my man to join me in my steamy chamber. Stealing away moments have taught us how to act fast, fulfill need and desire promptly, before capture by phone, child or other such demanding responsibility. After our quick and steamy encounter, the moment hung around. No knock at the door disturbed us. No ring of the phone, nor demanding deadline on the brain. Nothing but... nothing. The gift to linger longer presented itself. I grabbed my lover's face and locked on deep and hard.

A feeling rose from my belly. Passion and pain mixed in a swirling sea of deep love and longing. Holding him close, his body warm, wet, strong and safe, I missed him dearly. Almost desperately. Realization overwhelmed me. How long had it been since we truly connected? Daily discussions are a given as are gentle touches as we pass each other by. His career allows him to work from home presenting the opportunity to be together every second of every day. But how long has it been since we were truly together? Heart and soul?

Holding our lip embrace I allowed the tears to flow followed by laughter at the insanity of it all. How dreadfully much I missed the man who is with me almost every moment of every day. One overwhelming  lip-lock moment of love and longing, passionate lust and pain, striking deep down to my core. Emotion welled up and the water instantly washed it away. It was as if I struck emotional climax.

I stepped out of the shower, wrapped a warm soft towel around myself and smiled, as contentment settled in for a spell.

Love is good.

Busy, busy, dreadfully busy...

My first born graduates this weekend.
I had full intention of putting out a heartfelt,
well thought out post about this mountain of a milestone.

As would be expected, I'm too busy to blog about it!
Instead, I will post a picture of the pretty beanbags I made for the beanbag toss.

So quick and easy and it turns out the family loves them!
They've been practicing juggling, playing catch,
and making up various games aside from the originally intended beanbag toss.

It doesn't take much time to make them.
If you have some scrap fabric laying around, I highly recommend you make some!
Fun for the whole family!

p.s. I cheated. They're really filled with rice.

Flip-Flop

Mama Brain
I was hungry for lunch which reminded me I had to put the chili in the crock-pot for supper.
Headed to the basement to retrieve crock-pot.
Hit the bottom of the stairs and remembered I needed to change the load of laundry.
Opened laundry room door and realized hubby still didn't fix florescent plant lights as requested.
(keep plants alive locked away w/false light due to cat who eats plants & ends up deathly ill)
Checked out lights myself and couldn't find the fix.
Changed load of laundry.
Changed full laundry room garbage bag (tomorrow is garbage day).
Headed up stairs with laundry basket in one arm and garbage bag in other.
Hit top of stairs and remembered I originally went down there for the blasted crock-pot which was not under EITHER arm!!!!
Went back down to fetch crock-pot.
Answered phone call for hubby's business (yup. one of my hats is 'secretary').
Caller was heading over and requested I gather some flyers before he arrived.
Gathered flyers and business cards.
Proceeded to put chili ingredients into crock-pot.
Realized this whole train of thought started with the fact I was hungry for lunch.
Now that I was STARVING for lunch, I grabbed the closest thing at the front of the fridge as I knew I only had a moment before customers would arrive.
As I closed the fridge with containers in hand, I stepped on something squishy. My overworked mind thought, "Aaack!!! That better not be a mouse!" which is a silly thought since we've never had a mouse in the house.
Alas, it was only a half filled balloon left on the floor with umpteen other odds and ends from the kids.

This is how my mind works throughout the day. Spinning, swirling, twirling with all there is to do and think about with an active and creative family of six.

Funny thing. For all I forget or cannot focus on, there are those bizarre thoughts that never seem to leave! An example would be the thought... "we're out of Cream of Tartar". Time and time again I will go to the store remembering we're out of something and completely forget the more recent "I already purchased that last time." So this is what my cupboards tend to look like.

Three of this, three of that, half a dozen of another and none of what I need.
And what the heck have I ever used cream of tartar in anyway??????
Calgon!!!! Take me Awayyyyyyyyyy!!!!!

That is just a fraction of minutes in a day. Compound that by the fact there are 24 hrs. in a day and factor in the time when four kids are home to boot. What do you have? A flip-floppin' mama brain!

Busy Days

Yesterday

Finally had the guts to walk out here...

Went hiking by a waterfall
You'll have to scroll down the link to see the waterfall.
I burned out my batteries at our first stop.

Long drive.
Body retaliating.
Exhausted family.
Good times.
Fun.

Today

Second born turns teenage!
Happy celebration day!

Received phone call from friend.
She was in a bad accident.
Young guy on drugs t-boned her.
She has a shattered pelvis.
Waiting for surgery.
Plates, screws, pain.
I'm worried about her.

Grocery Shopped.
Got in a fender bender.
Both of us backing out.
Both of us in blind spots.
Both our fault.
Decided we would deal with our own cars on our own.
No cops. No insurance.
Left each other with a hug.
No lie.

Off to the amusement park.
Praying for safe travels.

Life is strange.

Wishing all of you a happy and safe weekend
full of the good stuff.

Getting from point A to point B

How is one to get from Point "A" to Point "B" when c-z have decided to ignore their marching orders?

Seems as if my "to do" list grows like a weed and my efforts to complete items and cross off are simply fertilizer for the damned thing to grow! I start with "A" and intend on working on "B" when along comes "c","d" and "e". I tackle them and start on the now approaching "f" and "g" when I get bowled over by "h","i", "k" and "l". Hey, where the heck did "j" go?

Maybe "m", "n" and "o" can get me to "x", "y" and "z".

Err.... ummm..... or was I at "q" and "r"?

Great! Now I forgot where I was and have to go back to "A". Hopefully I can wrangle up "j" while I'm at it.

Are you feeling overwhelmed and confused now? That means I'm not alone ;)

(The preceding is a glimpse into the inner workings of my mind trying to deal with overload.)

Time with the fam

Ever feel so busy
you feel as if you do everything
but have time to finish nothing?

Ever feel like an octopus
being pulled in eight directions at once?

Ever get so overwhelmed
your body kicks into pain or sick mode
just to slow your stubborn butt down?

Deadlines
demands
and
dirty deeds
oh my!

That's been my life lately.

So
today
I took leisure time
to sip coffee
with my man

and make
homemade pizza
with the fam

Yum!!!!!
