Life is fleeting

We are given life and eventually that life is taken away.
The beginning and end are not in our hands.
The middle is entirely ours.

Life is fleeting.
Make the choice today.
Love every minute, every breath, every beautiful gift your life offers.
Choose to make every moment you are in
the best moment of your life.

A friend called me yesterday. She was at her mother's house consoling her as they waited for the coroner to take her husband's body away. He suffered a massive heart attack. She was in a state of shock. Her mother was in shock. I was obviously not expecting a call like that.  I responded the only way one can.
I'm so very sorry. I love you. Please let me know what you need and I'll be there for you.

I left that phone call stunned. I have known Tom pretty much my whole life.
Here a whole life.
Gone in an instant.
Perhaps that's why it always surprises us.

Sending prayers and hugs to all who were touched by Tom's life.
Whom are pained by his death.
May he rest in peace.

That's one of the reasons why we shouldn't act like the world is ending when things are difficult. Our world ends only when it actually does, we need to make the middle memorable.

My prayers are with your friend. I hope she finds some consolation in the wonderful memories her loved one left behind.

Never easy Nacheluver, but knowing there are others whose we can rely on helps considerably, good for you!

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost a good friend last year...he was 42. Talk about a wake up call. Life is indeed short.

I am so glad you were available for your friend. None of us knows how much time we have left, but it still shakes me to the core every time I hear a story like this.
