The Monster is Coming!!!!

The older I get, the worse my PMS has become. Like seriously worse!!!! Today I am literally having trouble being around myself! Aack! That's the worse! Other people think they have it so bad. So they get snapped at, cried at and confused by my mood antics. What the hell do they think it feels like to be me? I get so jumpy inside I want to escape my skin!!! My nerves are frazzled, my hair feels like shit, I can't seem to do anything without dropping something and my Fibro is flaring!!! If the family doesn't like it, they can leave the room. Me? I'm trapped with myself!!!!

Thought I would distract myself with bread making today. Turned out to be a disaster! Tried working on a journal I'm making, broke the blessed needle stitching by hand! Took a shower, accidentally shampooed twice and forgot the cream rinse making my hair a major hay field. Crap! Would love to take a nap but my mind is whirring. Even having trouble forming thoughts for this post!

Not even going to attempt to be creative with a picture. My mood feels like the storm cloud that was looming over my house last week.  Anyone have a holistic approach to dealing with this shit? Would love your responses. Just remember, approach gingerly.  ;)  See? At least I haven't lost my sense of humor!

Noisy Art

We're heading off to a chainsaw carving event today. There will be 18 chainsaw carving, food, and fun!

My uberly talented husband picked up this hobby a little over a year ago. He is one of the most talented people I have ever met. He can draw, sculpt, build, you name it and he can do it! Never quite finding the right outlet, he came across a chainsaw carver a few years back and was absolutely taken. He studied the internet, borrowed library books and absorbed all the information he could find. Starting out with a borrowed chainsaw, he eventually built up his arsenal to include a couple of his own carving saws along with a plethora of other helpful tools.

His carvings were instantly beautiful and professional. He sells them from home, has a few displayed in a local shop and has given them as gifts.

I'm hoping this event will be inspiring, educational and confidence building for him. As far as the rest of us? It will be just plain fun!!!

Here are a few of my darling husband's carvings. I know, brilliant, right????

A Picture for A Giggle

I have oh so much to share with you, my dear blog. But alas, between the technical difficulties that have been plaguing my house the last few days and my neck, which has been causing me so much pain and immobility of late, I only have time for a few words and a small little picture.

For now, please enjoy the amusement of my darling kitties enjoying a nap on their bunkie bed.  ;)

Stepped in Something

Woke in the middle of the night in a total panic. I heard a door rattling and my daughter sobbing.
Went to her room to check on her and she was not there.
Followed the sobs and rattling to find her half asleep and fear stricken.
She had locked herself in the bathroom in the dark.

Hugged the badness away and had her tucked safely in
when I noticed the sky lighting up repeatedly.
Turned on the t.v. to check the weather.
Major line of storms moving our way.

Went through the house to shut all the windows
and slid, barefooted, in a pile of cat vomit
on the kitchen linoleum floor.
Aaaack!

Cleaned foot and floor,
prepared for storm
and tried to sleep.

Woke at 6am groggy from lack of sleep.
Found gazebo toppled and broke from wind,
pool cover had blown and spun and sunk in pool.
Woke teen for his summer job and headed out the door to take him to work
only to
Step On and Slide on A BIG SLUG!!!!!
again with bare feet...
Eeewww!!!

Wondering what this day is preparing me for.
Hmmmm.......

Since "things" happen in threes,
I'm thinking I should go walk around my neighbor's yard (he has a dog)
and get it over with!

Crossroads

Yesterday I had the opportunity to take a walk with a good friend.
We have been setting dates once a week for the past four weeks.
Every week we go to a different small town
eat at a different small eatery
take in the local shops
and drive the local roads.

On our weekly lunch dates
we have spent time discussing and pondering our lives.
We talk of where life has taken us,
where we feel we are headed,
where we hope to head
and all the possibilities out there.

Yesterday we found a quaint little town called Rockdale.
We saw a path that led to a bridge
that also led to the trail.
We headed down the path
as we could not resist the canopy of trees.

Not too far into our walk we came upon a crossroads.
I kid you not! An actual crossroads!
Can you see it below?
One path is graveled quite nicely
while the other is more grassy and natural.

I giggled and couldn't resist giving my friend Rosie a small crossroads speech.
"You see Rosie?
All this talk and contemplation we have been doing and here it is!
Our actual crossroads right here in front of us! You must pick!
Pick a path! Which way should we go?"

That's the last time I let her make the decisions! Ha!
No sooner did we head in her chosen direction than we came upon a red sign
(yes, a literal "sign")
that read...

"WRONG WAY"

Oh did we laugh and laugh!

How completely fitting for two silly wanderers.

Down Day... or is it Up?

What a crazy, good, long weekend!
Work, work and more work.
We did yard work,
house work,
summer prep work
and
more work.
It was hot, tiring and muscle fatiguing.
We wrapped the long weekend up with some homemade focaccia bread
and homemade soup au du leftovers :)

All that hard work has my thighs so sore and tight
I can hardly walk.
My wrists are so weak and affected I'm wearing my brace.

Today I am having a down day. Or is it up?
Spending the day with a friend in a quaint little shop town.
Will have lunch at a coffee shop and take in all the beauty of the area.

Hoping to have some wonderful pics to share tomorrow.

Wishing you a happy Tuesday as well!

P.S. Planning a fairy garden to build with the little ones.
Check out these cute etsy finds!!!
Great inspiration, no?!!!!!
