Positive

I created the above image for my mother who struggles with chronic negativity. It prints perfectly on 4x6 index cards. I am gifting my mother with a small stack of printed cards to place around her house as reminders with the hope that she is willing to embrace the challenge of working to change her thoughts, thus allowing her life to follow suit. I printed out a few for myself as well. I am hoping I succeeded in posting the image above in a format you (dear reader) will be able to save and print in the event you would like a reminder as well. (I chose the colors according to the intended recipient's decor.)

Hello New Year!

It's going to be a good year.
There. I said it.
The intention is out there.
The seed of belief has been planted.
I will nurture it and water it and watch it grow.
Bloom and grow baby!
Yup. It's going to be an excellent year.

Attitude

I am working on attitude today. These quotes speak volumes to me at this moment. Perhaps you will enjoy them as well.

Happiness is an attitude.  We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong.  The amount of work is the same.  ~Francesca Reigler

Say you are well, or all is well with you,
And God shall hear your words and make them true.

Be Positively Positive

It's Friday.
Yay!!!
Woke with a song in my head this morning.
The song everyone loves to hate.
Rebecca Black - Friday

I have an eight year old daughter.
She loves the song. Loves the girl.
My daughter is about the sweetest girl you could ever meet.
And she likes the song everyone loves to hate.

Why do people love to hate it?
Why do people love to hate in general?
What happened if you don't have anything nice to say,
don't say anything.

I'll admit it's not my favorite song.
Not even close.
But I would never berated and hate on a young girl trying to live her dream.
I would never publicly insult her or say nasty things toward her song on a public forum.
Opinions are like assholes.
Everyone has one.
It doesn't mean you have to share yours.

Sharing something positive and constructive?
Brilliant!
But why! Oh why! Do people feel the need to be so hurtful?

If you don't like it, don't watch it.
That simple.
Keep calm and carry on.

My daughter loves the song.
She finds it fun and catchy.
She's eight years old. Perfect audience for a song like this.
Different strokes for different folks.

I went to a movie with my kids a year ago.
They had a preview for Justin Bieber's movie.
You should have heard the comments that came from the mouths of parents
in the audience of that theatre.
"I swear that kid has to be gay."
"God I cannot stand that idiot! He has zero talent."
"If I have to hear one more thing about Justin Bieber, I think I'll shoot myself."

Really people?
Really?

This is the way you talk in front of your kids.
Negative Nellies the lot of them.

Read any Yahoo article out there.
Heck, read my hometown paper online.
The comments section are ferocious.
Everyone hides behind the screen and throws daggers and shit at the screen.

Why are we such an unhappy and negative society?
Is everyone so full of toxic hate that they can't help but spill over?
It makes me sad. It makes me scared.
Scared for my kids. Scared for future generations.

I say we start now.
It's a new day.
Let's start a movement of positivity.
For every negative comment out there, post a positive.
For every hateful word, share two words of love.
For every bit of nonacceptance, tell someone you love them just the way they are.

No one's perfect. If you feel the need to rip, do it with your spouse.
Have fun poking with a friend. Get it out of your system and move on.
Don't post it permanently.
Don't put it where it can hurt others.

Let's change this world and choose to be positively positive.

I dedicate this post and song to my darling daughter who is
loving
kind
accepting
and
positive.

She makes me want to be a better person.

Negative to Positive

I am mega frustrated today.
Like MEGA!
Like speechlessly so.
Me. Speechless.
 I know, right?
(yup. I'm down with the teen lingo)

My anger today is aimed at creativity killers. Art Assassins, if you will.  Instead of dumping my anger (which is all I seem to have to offer at the moment), I will share some art inspiration. I will turn the negative into a positive. Go ARt!!!!

1.
Did you know Jim Carrey (the comedian/actor) is an artist?
Totally! Check the LINK.

2.
This looks like a BlaST!!!!!

3.
A blog chok full of art from various artists
using various art forms and mediums.
Learn, explore, get inspired.

4.
Found this awesome table at Pottery Barn. Been looking for something like this for the kid's art table (to replace the card table currently residing in my back living room). As the Wicked Witch of the west would say, some day "I'll get you my pretty!!!"
