NaNoWriMo 2012 - Day 9

NaNoWriMo Day 9 - Yesterday was a doozy. Had trouble making it through, but I did. Oh yes, I did! The more pain I felt, the more I wanted to give up. The more the fibro fog wrapped itself around my brain, the worse my writing sounded resulting in a full on fight with my inner editor. No correcting, no deleting, no judging is allowed or I will never hit the word count goal of the day. NaNoWriMo is all about dumping. Getting words onto the page.
Today, something magical happened. I woke, I typed, I was reaching a point in the plot where I had to introduce an altering event and I wasn't sure how. Suddenly, the main character created the event all on her own! She guided me right through! Bravo Amelia! Thank you for showing me the way!

This...

is the "no-no" key!

NaNoWriMo 2012 - Day 7

NaNoWriMo Day 7 - Fibromyalgia is kicking my butt. I am in some serious pain. I also have a fire in my belly for this writing challenge that I have not experienced in the past. It is built big and burning strong. I wrote in spite of my condition. I pushed myself and hit my goal for the day in spite of my pain and brain fog. I hurt like hell right now but my mind is happy, my heart is soaring, my soul found freedom in the words in spite of my body trying to hold me back. In spite of. Pretty powerful words when you use them for good. Words I am in love with today. The writing life. At times it literally hurts so good. Off to a hot bath and even hotter tea (to wash down a much needed pain pill). Hey! I'm not Superwoman you know!

Now it's your turn. I challenge you to go do something wonderful in spite of that which holds you back. Let me know how it goes, won't you? I do love a good share.

Spoons

Do you (or someone you know) suffer from a debilitating condition?
Do you (or someone you know) suffer from chronic pain?
I have a story to share with you.
You'll have to follow the link as I did not request permission to post and it is copyright protected.
Go ahead. Take the time. It's worth it.
I'll be here when you get back.

Great! You're back!

That story was shared with me by a wonderful online friend.
She knows I suffer from fibromyalgia and knows I have good days and bad.
My initial reaction to the story was, "Wow! I'm not alone. Someone gets it!"
I felt relief and understanding.
The story has stuck with me. I have shared it with many people.
It has given me a new way to look at my condition and my life.
It has taught me to take care of myself and pay attention
to the amount of energy I use and how I dish it out.
More recently, it has inspired me to make a new piece of art.

After finishing the piece and finding pleasure and satisfaction in it,
I have decided to do a "Spoon Series".

More to come...

Patience

Patience Please
as my body kicks my a$$ in another major fibro flare.

I'm trying. I really am.
The patience thing gets hard when suffering with chronic pain.
Little things feel huge.
Annoyances become astronomical.
People still expect and want and need
not understanding that I'm not always capable.
I look okay.
I feel like I was in a major car wreck.

Don't know if it's the weather.
Don't know if it's stress.
Don't know what's setting it off but I know it's been a while.

Lost a follower this week.
Don't blame 'em.
I've been MIA.
I've been uninspiring.
I've been lost for decent words.

I'm working through it.
I have good ideas in the making.
I have a surprise for tomorrow.

Sometimes all we have to do is look around for gentle reminders.
My cats.

They remind me to live in the moment.
They remind me to have patience.
They remind me I am loved and needed.

I really don't remember where I was going with this post.
My mind is not working as clearly as I would like.
For now. I ask. Patience please
while I work through my physical issues.
I feel like I haven't fully been present here in the blog world for some time.
I've been lurking and learning and loving.

Be back tomorrow with a fun story.

You Will Never Find Me List-less

Having trouble getting into the blog groove lately.
My fibro is flaring and I'm suffering something fierce!
Anyone out there with fibro?
Man, would I love to talk to you!

Anywho, Amy from Artsyville has saved the day
by giving me something to blog about today.
Lists!!!!

I'm a list-a-holic.
I have so many lists running rampant in my home
I need a list to keep track of my lists!
It's a sickness, really, but one I have found no cure for.
Truth be told?
I enjoy them :)

The two tablets to the right
are a couple of the ongoing lists
that are milling about my desk.
Sadly, the lists are not just the pages that are showing their faces,
but many pages before are covered in list matter as well.
The Oh So Colorful list to the left
was made especially for this fine Tuesday List posting.

This would all sound more coherent if it weren't for the
To-do list in my head
that is blocking my train of thought
as it sits untouched today
again due to the fibro.

Seriously, anyone?
Anyone else deal with the mind-sucking,
body depleting,
pain-inducing,
frustrating condition of fibromyalsia?

Think I'll add that to one of my "to-do" lists.

+ find fibro support group and resources

(p.s. I've been a follower of Artsyville for some time
and thoroughly enjoy every minute spent there.)

UPDATE:

My 12 y/o son spotted my list for today and wanted to do the same.
How brilliantly splendid!!!
I love inspiration and it's that much more beautiful
passed on
and on
and on!

Here is B's list...
Thank you Amy, for starting Tuesday's List.
Thank you all who have visited.
Do you have a list you would like to share?
