stages
start out small
growing
growing
slip and fall
back up again
gaining confidence
world full of beauty
danger
possibility
fear
climbing
growing
fighting to survive
had your fill
grown by leaps and bounds
seen so much
been through lots
survived
can't help but feel
something missing
something more
must be meaning
yearning for change
but what?
slow down
curl up
reflect
rest
wait for what comes next
We had so much fun fishing a little over a week ago.
Found a monarch caterpillar.
Brought it home and created a habitat.
Success!
A cocoon.
The kids have been enjoying the process.
I have been enjoying the lessons.

Perspective
Looking for something different?
Looking for change?
Are you bored and trying to spice up your life?
Perhaps you are stuck in a rut and not sure how to escape.
Is your situation less than desireable?
Do you wish you were treated differently than you are?
You can change your life drastically with one little word.
Perspective
One of my favorite parts of motherhood is learning from my children.
Lennon (the cat) was playing in the kitchen the other day.
He was batting around two of his favorite toys.
Pipe cleaners and hair bands.
Inevitably they end up piled in a corner or lost under an appliance.
On this particular day, as I was cooking supper,
he proceeded to bat his collection into a pile at the edge of the room.
He was busy amusing himself while I was stuck making meal #1,785,832.
My Princess Girl walks in the room.
She watches her beloved kitten for a while.
She then proceeds to walk in the next room continually observing Lennon.
As she passes from one room to the next she stops in her tracks,
studies his pile of toys and proclaims, "Lennon can spell!"
Unsure of what she was talking about
I walked to where she was standing
and looked at his toys from a different perspective.
Sure enough, that boy is smarter than I ever gave him credit for.
Lennon CAN spell!!!!
I learn so much from my children.
That day's lesson has stuck with me.
It opened my eyes to the possibility of changing a situation
simply by changing perspective.
I have been thinking about it for days now.
Perspective.
The word has potential to change so much!
Have a problem you haven't been able to solve?
Look at it from a new perspective.
Not happy with a situation?
Change your perspective.
Stuck in an artistic rut?
Get a new perspective!
Bored?
Perspective.
Think of something that has been less than grand in your life lately.
Now turn it around and look at it in a different perspective.
What did you come up with?
Wishing you a weekend full of happiness and childlike wisdom.
Peace to YOU!

Spring
Life is full of changes.
Always has been.
Always has been.
Always will be.
Sometimes it seems
as if the seasons help us on our journey.
They set the example for us.
This darling little bulb is working its way up to the surface.
I planted several spring bulbs close to the house
and I watch them faithfully every year waiting for them.
They are my first sign of spring.
Sometimes it seems
as if the seasons help us on our journey.
They set the example for us.
Summer is a time to enjoy. A time of celebration. A time of cooking out, going to the beach and soaking up the rays. Summer is a time to spread your wings and fly!
Fall tells us we should be thankful for our summer. Slow down. Relax and reflect. Be aware of the trees and animals as they get ready for slumber. Pull out the warm blankets and build a nice fire. Take cues from the Earth as she prepares for the winter.
Winter is for hibernation and rest. We cannot shut out the world and sleep for three months but we can certainly snuggle up with loved ones, warm our homes and tummies with warm baked goods and hot chocolate. Gather indoors with our loved ones and share our hearts over the holidays filling them with love.
Spring is a time to shake off all the winter cobwebs. Air out the house. Clean up the clutter. Pack away the heaviness of winter and step out into fresh air and endless new possibilities.

If I turn around, this is the scene behind me :)
Notice the bulb in the bush?
That is a remnant of Christmas past.
The snowbanks receding are another sign that spring is near.
I have been feeling the itch. The need for change. Desire to clean house. All for some time now. Just as I was on the verge of losing my patience, there she is. Mother Nature giving me the green light.
"It's time." she whispers in the breeze.
"It's time." she whispers in the breeze.
Happy Cleaning!
